STK IIS provides a dance arena with wall-sized mirrors, internet-based TV, and a sound system, as well accessories such as ankle bells, matkis, and costumes. The aim of the dance education curriculum is to teach students the skills and knowledge necessary for dance performance. Through a range of age-appropriate topics, including dance notation, human anatomy, physics, dance history, and cultural aspects, students are exposed to various dance genres, both formal and informal. These genres progress from simple to complex, encompassing indigenous forms such as Kathak, Bharatnatyam, and Manipuri, as well as foreign styles like Ballet, Ballroom, Contemporary, Jazz, Latin, and Tap Dance. Dance is a compulsory subject from Grades 1 to 4, with the option to choose between exclusive dance or music from Grade 5 onwards.
