School Assessment

The school adopts the Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation (or CCE) assessment programme, with a detailed monitoring of Personal Skills Development. The focus is not to teach/learn to the exam; rather, it encourages building learning for retention even beyond the academic curriculum – for the biggest exam …LIFE!

Since the school year is divided into 2 terms, there are two instances of Report Reading – each a cumulative of the assessments through the term. Term 1 (April to September), Term 2 (October to March).

Grades 1-5 : Assessment for Learning

Assessments will be based on the class-wise subjects applicable. Date-wise, subject-wise syllabus for each written assessment will be provided in advance vide email.

Break-up of quantitative assessment per term.

  • Term 1- Formative Assessments (100 marks)
    1. Paper-pen FAs x 2 per term (FA1 and FA2) (30m each)
    2. FA-3 Ongoing activities + Projects (10 + 10)
    3. FA-4 Dictation + CW HW + Orals (10 + 5 + 5)
  • Term 2- Formative Assessments (100 marks)
    1. Paper-pen FAs x 2 per term (FA5 and FA6) (30m each)
    2. FA-7 Ongoing activities + Projects (10 + 10)
    3. FA-8 CW HW + Dictation + Orals (10 + 5 + 5)

Grades 6 to 8:

  • Term 1- Formative Assessments (100 marks)
    1. Periodical Assessment PA1, Pen Paper exam 20 marks to be reduced to 10 marks
    2. Periodical Assessment PA2, Project based assessment 10 Marks, Written work 10 Marks, 20 marks to be reduced to 10. Average of PA1 and PA2 will be taken.
    3. Subject Enrichment 10 marks to be reduced to 05
    4. Notebook submission 10 marks to be reduced to 05
    5. SA1 paper pen 80 Marks
    6. Cumulative result PA1 + PA2(10) + Enrichment(5) + Notebook(5) + SA1(80) = 100
  • Term 2- Formative Assessments (100 marks)
    1. Periodical Assessment PA3, Pen Paper exam 20 marks to be reduced to 10 marks
    2. Periodical Assessment PA4, Project based assessment 10 Marks, Written work 10 Marks, 20 marks to be reduced to 10. Average of PA3 and PA4 will be taken.

    5. SA2 paper pen 80 Marks

Report Reading

The Term-end assessment is a composite of the Formative (and Summative) assessments as well as the teacher’s review and reflection on the social, physical, emotional, co-curricular aspects of the child’s progress, resulting in a term-end Report Reading session. These are held in September (1st term) and in March (2nd Term).

External Olympiads

Students of Grade1 up can optionally also opt for the school approved Olympiad exams for assessing proficiency in – English, Maths, Science and IT. These exams are held at various times of the year, depending on the examining agency – Macmillan, SOF, MARRS Spelling Bee, National Math League, National Talent Search.

From Grade 3, in addition to the above, students compulsorily undertake the world-renowned ASSET Diagnostic Exam (winter season) as an integrated part of the school assessment programme, for skill-based assessment of proficiency in
