The Saturday Club activities include experiences that build personality, life skills, community action and hobby classes. These are conducted only on Saturdays, with a choice of any 1 activity per term.
The Clubs include:
a club that allows children to decipher why everyday things are designed the way they are and how they function. Children are allowed to take things apart (tod), analyse the working of each part (fod) and then reconstruct it back to its original form(jod)
A club that sharpens the intellect with expansive general awareness, facts from history, personalities, inventions & innovations, brands ‘n logos, current affairs and so much more across all subjects. The club is divided into subject based teams, to hone their depth of knowledge and skills. These teams then represent the house / school in competitions.
a club that hones the skills for everyday things like setting the table, covering books, stitching, making simple snacks and drinks, serving, woodwork, book binding etc
A club to inculcate among students a fondness for language and enhancement of their literary skills. A platform for: Creative Writing, Newsletter publication, Debating and expression of one’s point of view. – all aimed at displaying their intellectual and independent thinking skills, building a sense of familiarity and confidence with words!
A club to provide students with a creative, comfortable atmosphere to design, learn and create art and craft, that can be useful and/or decorative. It allows students to explore various media in art forms – clay, cloth, paper, powder, pencils, metal, wood, paints, etc, as well as understand the genesis & style of artforms across India and the Western world.
Beats and Bars
A club that offers a place for vocalists and instrumental musicians to use and hone their talents, explore different types and styles of music, different instruments and make up a band, orchestra and choir. The genres Indian and western styles, covering string instruments (guitar, sitar), keyboards, percussion (all forms) and vocals. This club then performs at the school functions and inter school events.
A club that offers a platform to experience the wonder of dance and the joy of performing. Students are exposed to different styles of dance across Indian and Western genres – from Kathak and Bharatnatyam to ballet, contemporary, hip hop and more. Students learn to see dance as an art, a way of expression, its genesis as well as the culture, attire and music associated with each form. Sometimes it is just the simple expression of fun and joy and other times there is a formal presentation in school functions and competitions.
A club that provides an environment to students to discover themselves and their body, to nurture their acting & communication skills and to enhance their internal and external expression through the mode of theatre. Students explore types of theatre – literary, historical, modern with the associated aspects of scripting, casting, stage management, set design and layout, costumes, lighting, props and make up.
