I don’t want to protect the environment, I want to create a world where the environment doesn’t need the protecting. Standing true to the quote is St. Kabir IIS Chapad. Kedi ( Kids For Enviornmental And Development Initiative) is a unique program that strives at arousing general awareness among the students regarding the different environmental issues to create a better future for the survival of mankind.
Kedi has been a highly successful program that witnesses students across grades 4 to 9 involving themselves in a wide range of activities. To name a few are vegetable plantations – sowing to harvesting of crops, organizing a Kedi Hatt, bird watching, taxi dermi- the art of preserving dead birds. A special mention for the documentary on ‘’Saving The Sparrow’’, that was conceived, composed and formulated by the students of grade 8, guided by Hitarth Pandya, the man behind making kedi a huge success.
Kedi Mela 2019 was an event truly to be cherished. The young students across grades 4 to 9 passed on strong messages through skit enactment. Hop scotch, puzzles, quiz, old but definitely not out dated the game of Gilli Danda, pottery making with a cup of hot tea and methi pakoras enthralled the parents. Kudos to the entire team at St Kabir IIS for making Kedi a success in all measures.
