The Academic term for STK-IIS is April to March. Students move up into the new grades in April. Students may also join into a new academic year by June (since April is a settling in month and May is closed for summer vacation).

Admission to the various classes (Grades 1 to 8) is open throughout the year, subject to vacancy and eligibility of the candidate for the desired class.

Age Eligibility

As per the recent RTE rules and regulations, the entry age level for children entering Grade 1 is 5/6 yrs as on 1st June of the admission year.

Entry at Grade 1

It is recommended according to ECCE norms that a child attend a 3 year pre-primary programme (3+ yrs in June at nursery level, ending at 5+ years in June at senior kg level) and begin formal schooling in Grade 1 at age 6 years.

Age at Board Levels

Age criteria for the higher grades will increase accordingly, ensuring that a child is minimum 15+ years in June at the Grade 10 level and 17+ years in June at the Grade 12 level.

Readiness Levels

The Readiness level of a child refers to the current preparedness/ knowledge of the student seeking admission for comfortably settling into the STK-IIS programme. These include readiness in – Language Skills (speaking, listening, reading, writing), Numeracy skills and General Awareness. For a smooth transition without burden, it is recommended that the student seeking admission has grade-appropriate learning outcomes in place.

Requisite Documents

The documents required to be submitted with the Admission Form include:

  • 2 passport sized photos
  • Attested copy of the birth Certificate
  • Original of the Doctor’s certificate of well-being
  • Photocopy of the last assessment/report of the child in the previous school
  • School Leaving Certificate (applicable for those seeking admission in Grade 2 up)
  • Attested copy of ADHAAR CARD
