Quizzes play an important role in learning and provide an array of benefits for both learner and the instructor. The motive of quiz competition is to persuade students to look beyond the classroom learning and establish a relationship between theory and application of the learnt concepts. It promotes healthy debate amongst participants in order to learn from each other and aid the participants in the team building process.
Students of Gr-5 and 6 were selected for a final round based on a 25 MCQ based questionnaire for the Heritage and Gk Quiz 2017-18. The exemplary students were selected from each grade level and House wise teams were made. The Quiz comprised GK, Social Studies and Heritage. The final quiz accounted rounds like, MCQ Round, Visualization Round, Map Activity Round, Buzzer Round (Movie Time and Newspaper Article based of current affairs), Crossword and Rapid Fire Round. The Rapid Fire Round turned the tables, which resulted into a drastic score change. Students were totally engrossed throughout the quiz.
The first position was bagged by Naidu House whereas, the runner up team none other than Nelson House also didn’t leave a stone unturned to prove their caliber. In Gr 7th and 8th, the first position was bagged by Newton house and the runner up team was Naidu Hause.
Each and every team had tried their best. It was an exclusive quiz which gave the participants and the audience an insight into their present knowledge of the subject and current affairs.
